Surrounded by a preserved fragment of riparian forests, the Gozo River is a popular destination for the Potiguara Indians, who come to swim and cool off in its calm, crystal-clear waters.
On the way to the Gozo River, there are two must-see stops. One is at the ruins of the São Miguel Church and the other is at the Potiguara Art Studio, owned by Sever, a native of the Tracoeira village, who describes the customs and history of his descendants through oil paintings on canvas, crafts, music, and decorative pieces. He explains that he began drawing at the age of eight, and today his art is featured on the Barra de Camaratuba Reception tour, where tourists stop before bathing in the Gozo River.
